Apple Computers

Does the Machead work with all sizes of iMacs?

We have designed the Machead to be installed internally to every size of iMac currently being manufactured. Connecting internally to an iMac provides the same smooth tilt the stand provides and the cleanest looking mounting available.

Please Note:
All 21.5 inch Machead adapters do need to be installed by a specialized Apple Technican. This applies to the original and the new thinner model.

On the original 27 inch imacs, the stand can be removed and the our Machead installed by the customer. The new thin 27 inch imac (late 2012), has to have the stand removed and the machead installed by a specialized Apple technician also.

Please check with your Apple service centre before purchasing.

Can I do the modification on my own?

If you have an older 24 or a 27 inch iMac you will be able to remove the original stand and connect our Machead easily without the help of a certified Apple tech.  Please watch the Machead installation video found on our website to become more familiar with this modification.  The 20 and 21 ½ inch iMac’s will require a certified Apple Tech to open up the iMac and install the Machead.  This process usually takes a little over an hour to install and when its complete your iMac will have a very unique feature of being able to mount on a variety of our arms. The new thinner 27 inch iMac also requires a cerified Apple Tech.

Can I install the Machead adapter without voiding the Apple warranty?

The older 24" - 27" iMac and the 24" - 27" ACD allow customers to install the Machead easily without voiding the Apple warranty. We have instructions and videos available to help with the install. The new thinner (late 2012) 27" imac requires an Apple tech to install.  The 20" and 21.5" iMac will require an Apple tech to install the Machead without voiding the warranty. Please speak to a sales agent to find an Apple tech in your area.

I have a 27-inch iMac, what arm would be best for me?

When recommending the best arm available to customers to use with the large iMac’s, we recommend our Boa and Mantis 30.  Each arm has unique features that cater to unique environments and both arms have been perfectly engineered for large multimedia displays like your 27 inch iMac.  Our sales representatives will be able to help you decide on the arm that works best for your environment.

Is there a mounting solution for the 27" iMac and 27" ACD?

Yes, we recommend the double Boa and triple Boa for mounting large monitors side by side. Our multi monitor mounts provide the best solutions available on the market today.
